Could you test me something on your broker, on September 08, at NY available, what was the signal from the last M5 candle and in which it move?
The reason is, on my back test on such date it hit on the level 4 at a loss, however by manual looking, the level 3 the price miss the sl by 0.3 pips but on my tester it says it hit on the sl. .
So I am not beliving in this results anymore, however...
Considering 01/07/2014 until now, at London open and start with 0.1 lots, end at 0.8 lots, from an 1000#8364; acc plus a spread of 0.8 pips.
If always buy on open regardless of what, profit was 150.35#8364;
Hitting 2 times on level 4 on 08/08 and 09/10.
If after the M5 candle, profit was-156.15#8364;
Hitting 4 occasions on level 4 to 07/01 - 07/23 - 08/21 and 08/28.
93925Interesting observations and backtest results... How many Level4 entrances hit TP?
M5 before NYO on 9/8/14 was a buy candle, profit by the 4th entry. First TP was missed by 1 pip on 9/8/14. (Utilizing NYO10 it would have been profitable by the 3rd entry.)
93925That's what I see in my broker chart, it struck takeprofit on par 4, however my backtest closed at 1.29386 52min prior to that.
So if I really trust on backtest?
93925I feel the accumulating effect of the 0.8 pips spreads is causing this phenomena. You might try to run a backtest using a lower ECN disperse (0.3 pips).
93925That's what, the spread is simply visual on a sell order not on a buy order, for instance,
I sell at a price market ( Bid ) the price that appear is the Bid, but what it counts is the Ask price, and that means you start at losing 0.8.
So if I hit Stoploss on my sell, visualy the candle around the chart, does not need to draw at that price, if I have a 5pip stop loss it will only go at 4.2 about the chart.
If I buy, the price that appear will be a Ask, but what it counts is the Bid, to take my halt the chart should draw at the correct price.
I believe that this is correct, is not it?
That's the reason why I do not understand my backtest outcome.
NYO trade and 93925Today LO hit TP. I'm not at desktop so can't post chart. If nobody posted then I will post later.
93925I only traded LO as the trade was still going when NY opened I did not wish to initiate a new trade.
It hit TP on the 4th level only (I'm using a new ECN demo account).
