Most choppy pairs? Least likely to trend?

I know it's rather simple to discover stats about the trading ranges for the pairs. My question is which pairs are the choppiest or likely to tendency for extended periods without a substantial retracement. Ideally I am speaking about pairs which are still volatile, but choppy throughout the range.

So while they may have traded a complete range of 120 pips the actual movement during the day is much much more?

Basically the pairs which are least likely to move in long straight tendencies, which are still volatile.

    Thank you.

I'm searching for a pair that generally stays inside a 300 pip range, and that doesn't normally go on tendencies.

USDJPY can get a little choppy Occasionally, Tendencies nicely as it moves though

I think you'd find exotics and small pairs as more choppier than majors eg. EURTRY - that was so choppy my broker often slipped prices and gave bad fills for me.

Choppiness generally goes hand-in-hand with volatility: XAUUSD is very choppy, and quite volatile also.

Check out USD/NOK and USD/SEK. Fabulously choppy, thus easy to exploit OB/OS readings.

USDCHF is pretty choppy and volatile.
I'll second that..perfect example are the fed announcement on tapering..and the resulting volatility.

There is absolutely no answer for that question. It depends on many factors, however if price isn't trending trade!
