Hello, you are totally right, everything looks promising until you get hit with a strong trend, moving back to Break even becoming harder and harder as you build up the place... Maybe, if we could think about a way to to identify that we might be in a trend then stop building againts and rather with the trend it could be a good idea and improve your drawdown... For instance... EURUSD for your whole 2017/2018, in the start of 2018 (Jan) a VERY HUGE uptrend started not retracing until Month and a half latter... picture
quote I will do, I believe we have to discover a way to filter construction a position a lot over a massive trend, this will minimise drawdown and prevent the account to be blew up...
You need a'safety valve' solution when you would like to exchange with multiple positions. You cannot allow too deep drawdowns in your trading account.
Cut losses short is exactly what many could say but how to perform is really hard so your system has to do the cut loss task for you becasue you'll never make that choice by yourself.
Below is my live trading example.

What should be your security valve in your system design?
I posted this in the TMS thread between 2016 to 2017.

    's backtesting example:
study closely the Balance and Equity, keep these two very near each other. Never let too deep floating drawdowns.

Hello, you are totally right, what seems promising until you get hit by a solid trend, going back to Break gets harder and harder as you build up the place... Perhaps, if we could consider a way to to identify that we might maintain a trend then stop building againts and rather with the trend it might be a fantastic idea and improve the drawdown... For example... EURUSD for the whole 2017/2018, in the beginning of 2018 (Jan) a VERY HUGE uptrend began not retracing until Month and a half latter... picture
nicely, this is your choice. However, you cannot predict the market you see. Just because a pair has been on an uptrend state for two years, does not mean it'll stay in an uptrend. If the trend reverses, you'll get burnt.

Too, even trading with the trend could indie that you might need to continue to your positions for several months or weeks, simply to break even.

There are many other methods of swing trading with this trend.

However there is no harm in analyzing your ideas, it may also work out to you. .

quote I have not much of data to check with, but I guess in general it works (proof of concept): file image
I tested EURUSD 01-01-2017 to 04-14-2018 with default configurations

there's a specific problem to analyzing this way: In the end of the testing period, the tester does a hard cut-off, meaning: When you can find open orders in the end of the period, they'll be shut by the trainee, maybe not by the egy. Therefore always look in the log to determine how many orders have been closed due to end of evaluation. But a stop-out is another thing of course.
Besides, the egy at hand isn't very great (unsurprisingly), it has no edge, if it had, everybody would use it as it's extremely straightforward. A means to give it edge would be to place orders at support/resistence levels rather than random and fixed dimensions intervals.

    Thought-provoking.

I've read your articles on the safety valve and they seem to allude to preserving close equity and equilibrium. Any more tips? Which transactions do you close first?

Hint #1: If you exchange with down average, you have to limit the number of average down positions in one basket. You must have a'cut reduction' principle and a mechanism built in your trade manager because as the trader you are improbable pull that trigger to'cut-loss'.... Very difficult thing to do is to take that decision and accept the reductions.

Hint #2: coming up... be patient!

Hello guys, I would love to know if someone would be willing to code this, I think that could be profitable. Any comments would be appreciated, even in the event that you think this is crap! Hahaha, but please give at least a proof Actually I don't know if there's an EA that truly functions like this... So allow me to clarify everything... Months ago I began to trade using an EA Produced by penis jansb000 (100% predied on Trade Made Simple Strat), I have been trading successfully as...
That seems interesting, my friend. . .remembers me with this: https://www.cliqforex.com/attachment...1103635938.pdf
