    Strategy Coded in LUA

    Hello,

I have come up with rather a great idea for an algorithmic egy, however my programming expertise in LUA is very limited. LUA is the coding language used from the FXCM platform, TSII/Marketscope. I'm wondering whether there are some traders/programmers out there which would be willing to help with this excellent idea.

Thank you to your posts chrisaforex and napitt!

Chrisaforex -- Marketscope accepts FX and CFD price feeds from our servers. Unfortunately there is not a means to integrate any other price feed.

Napitt -- I apologize for the absence in reaction! That is quite unusual. If you'd like please send the egy to me for us to look at. It seems like the egy was not constructed with intra-bar trading logic (i.e. it is only going to put trades in the start of a candle, not within a candle). This is likely something which may be altered, however we'd have to see the code and determine if it's possible.

Thanks for your time and best of luck trading!

You don't need to use LUA. FXCM has also C and C# based trading platforms.

    Thank You Brad!

So is there anyway to only have solitary stocks and each of the commodity markets undergo marketscope? Like can I just buy the feed to get all those markets?

That is an old thread but thought I would try. New member and can't email others.

I have a egy that I need adjusted for the FXCM trading station platform. I have exactly the very same problems since you Mfoste1 with FXCM and codebase. Except FXCM did not even reply to me personally after filling out their quote form twice! The egy that I want fixed is that the donchian channel split egy, made by codebase. People that are codebase never examine it and put on hold.

The egy comes with an choice to enable tick data, but doen't seem to get the job done. Trades following the candle closes rather than if station is crossed.
Wondering if Mfoste1 found a reliable coder with this platform which you would advoe? Wiling to pay, just want it fixed without any viruses.
    Thanks
    Neal

    Hi Mfoste1,

In addition to what Terraforce and Jcl365 have already said, you can receive free help with programming habit functions, indiors and egies to get FXCM platforms on the http://www.fxcodebase.com/code/viewforum.php?f=38. If you find that you need professional guie, you can http://www.fxcm.co.uk//forex-programming-services.jsp department. And if you are more comfortable programming in languages other than .LUA, then FXCM offers the http://www.fxcm.co.uk//automated-trading.jsp platforms that use MQL and C# respectively.

    Hi Jason,

Thanks for the response, yet, I posted here in order to prevent having the team at FXcodebase work on it. The team is very, very poorly managed and the site is all around the place and nothing ever seems to get finished there. Most of the algos the staff functions on are entirely useless and I will tell instantly that the egies won't work ever. So what happens is a fantastic idea comes along and the programmers are too busy working on useless ideas to finish it. Then, you receive the response your idea has been added to the development record aka the forgotten list. I have posted requests and ideas only to test back weeks later and discover that other thoughts that were posted considerably later than mine were finished. I have offered to cover the premium services, but they just said they would do it for free and post it to the website. This is not a fantastic practice in my view. Why wouldn't they've allow me to cover a personal algo developed? FXCM them level developers? It is very mind boggling.

In regards to FXCM programming solutions, I had been quoted $600 for the reversal of 15 lines of code which is a joke at best, so I could only speculate as to exactly what a egy developed by them could cost.

We app robots in C to your FXCM API. If you are interested, please PM me. I can not tell you beforehand what a client specific algorithm will charge, but I will tell you it won't be $600 for 15 lines.
