    Steve Nisons Candlestick book

Hey guys I Am reading through Steve Nison's Japanese Candlestick Charting book and I have a question on its Software to Forex.

I have just started reading the novel, but it seems that a few of the patterns are based on the gap of close/open prices . Because it talks about markets with limited trading hours, the closing price of one day is not necessarily the same as the opening price of the next day. He utilizes these gaps in the definition of some of those patterns. Since Forex is a 24h market, these don't really apply. I'm wondering if anybody here has read the novel (most likely ) and how they cope with this.

Hmm, yes, very good point. I mainly stick with hourly charts anyway, so that shouldn't be too much of a issue.

A fast thought on using GMT as the reference timezone - London opens at 8AM and New York ends off the day at 9PM. Since these are the two most busy markets, a daily chart based on GMT ( - a few hours) is possibly the most legitimate.

    This is a Fascinating post
    https://www.cliqforex.com/trading-sy...s-success.html

Notice'Black Cloud Cover'. This is the pattern that got me thinking about this situation. Notice how the open of the second bar is above is above the close of the preceding bar. How does that occur? In reality it occurs to pretty much all of the bars on that chart... is this only because of the discrete price movement causing jumps?

EDIT: Yeah, nevermind. Must be. Happens to my own charts if I zoom in enough.

Can anyone recommend a fantastic publiion for trading a market such as Forex based on price action - similarly to what is done from the chart thread?

Nison includes a Currency Market specific dvd. Steve Nison - Profiting in Forex. Its a good dvd - conference setting - He basically says discount openings in candle patterns since at a constant market they are not applicable. For instance in novels the doji is obviously shown gapped off in patterns. Here is how he presents a Currency Market doji. Also the exact same for different patterns, dark cloud cover, engulfing patterns etc..
PS - HE also claims to utilize 5pmEST close since it is the most frequent of the near times on charts. Don't know whether this makes a diff or not.

    Hello,

I downloaded Nison FOREX CD from FileFactory I Believe.
In the event that you already read his novels or Stephan Bigalow novels about
candlesticks, you want find a lot new.
In first two CD, everything is so gradually, not too much information.
I believe that real significance for this is 100-200$, not 500$.

    Cheers,

    Shone

    p.s.

Does anyone has link to Samurai Trader?
    Does it value?
I was attending Stephan Bigalow two day webinar (from 9-17h) also it's worth 500$.

yeah, for $40, give me a fkin break you sleazy salesman. And what is worst is that you are charging for something that isn't yours. And I really like the way you say that it satisfies your needs as a beginner so that you can trap newbies into sending an email, simply to find out that you just charge $40 for the hyperlinks. shame on you
