I'm installing mt4 on debian 8.4 desktop VPS. After I run wine32 mt4setup.exe it ask me for Proxy server configurations and login info. Any thought?
I did
sudo apt-get purge playonlinux
sudo apt-get purge wine
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo apt-get autoclean
I expect this eliminates any traces of playonlinux or wine from my system, will install and reboot wine from software manager again and assess

#8203;Because you utilize playonlinux, it may differ from wine, so I don't have any experience here.
But hope it will help
No. You need to install lost library so that metatrader installer may work.
In terminal, replie and pass
wine /path/to/mt4_installer.exe It will show you that the missing variant of lib gnutls.
Then you may visit http://packages.ubuntu.com/ search and download then install it. (Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu)
within my expierience that happens to one of 2 types of Metatrader installers. This occurred to me with a installer out of a specific broker. Afterwards I used.
Actualy it is irrelevant which installer you use. You can conect to each broker on each MT installment
gt; use another installer
Because of libgnutls.

it's possible to copy an installed metatrader 4 folder to linux.
I operate metatrader 4 on archlinux i686 without problem, (but I have same problem with x64 earlier, solved by pacman -S lib32-gnutls).
Install Windows within VirtualBox.... You won't look back.... Assuming your pc can handle it and you can find a windows ISO image.
