    dudes journal

The lower your expectations, the happier you will be. Linda Rashke

This public journal is intended to show that it is potential for retail Currency Market traders to be prosperous, and also to help me to exchange well. Hilmy83 motivates me to be transparent about my trading, to be honest with other people about what is possible in full-time trading, and also to show successes, struggles and my mistakes. Hope my journey is helpful to someone....

Talking of rules....One rule is, confirm market entries prior to yanking the trigger.: During one of my very first live trades I dropped a Real $1000 from unintentionally entering 20 Lots rather than 2 Lots and then hoping for three minutes that the trade would quickly arrive back prior to closing it. It did not come back, and I ate that $1000 reduction.

Saw this chart oncliqforexand needed to place it as art.

quote No, my platform does not have range bars, and I really don't like MT4. I tried bricks but did not like that they hid price movement information. I'm glad that you're finding what works well for you!
I also dont like mt4, I like ctrader but no rangebars, so I am with jforex, and waiting for ctrader to include them. They state they will platform u use?

    Week in review:
I must have been at my computer on Wednesday for the NZD news, while I was long AJ and NJ, rather than being in the shower and happy being up $1k in my receptive basket of trades. Instead, the NJ Aj reversed on the N news, and then an AUD man talked down rate increases--and suddenly my thing NJ AJ were headed for the toilet.

I intended to ride them out for hundreds of pips, if needed. However, the next day, when AJ had a severe bearish engulfing candle, and both were falling below support I lost my resolve, shut them and played each of the JPYs brief when they dumped--good versatility in recognizing a terrible situation, and good decision-making to brief the JPYs twice--grabbing them the next time around the rebound, but not holding them long enough. Both of these poor trades cost me were the gap between a winning and losing week, and lost while they had been receptive sleep.

For the next time I reminder myself in a painful manner that holding losing trades overnight only leads to sleepless nights. If it's Stopped in Profit, that's cool. But holding three overnight losing trades which cost me almost $10k is sufficient to instruct me not to do that again (maybe?) , despite my intentions to maintain a loser for weeks, and wait until it comes back, since I have a big account and may ride out anything, lol... Not worth the lack of sleep, stress and poor impact in my trading. Ok?

Friday--was enjoying well after May's speech but did not hold GC and GN longs! There was no fantastic reason to exit early on those reversals that are fine after the address of May--I gave up 35 pips x 8 LOTS on two trades. Gotta cool dude. Just chill.

Nearly every day that I jump into poor trades when beginning every day, then play ch-up. It's trying, although fantastic for the volume rebate and costs me money. Just stop doing that, ok?

By the way--good end to the week, dude! Just a really trade from an equity high!
    Sincerely,
    Dude

    7 pips.
One commerce today, after two weeks off. Happy with the commerce selection, patience, proceed to B/E and exit.

Week: On Wednesday in the NY semester I left $2500 quickly (and was getting another great first half of this month just like September) but then rather than closing my platform and enjoying the afternoon I took just one more trade, then invisibly into oblivion the next three days, planning to create it all back in the N government announcement. I had been up $3k if that trade reversed on A news, then it just kept going and I sat there still in a disbelieving fog, thinking it was just the A news--but it was not and the trade kept running before...
Hey Dwe, just how is it with your overtrading? I'm struggling myself a bit, is it better by now? Its that you. . .keep the journal coming, I love to read it, cheers

Where there's (weather) volatility there's opportunity....for a run in knee-deep flood roadway water and blowing rain from hurricane Irma!

quote yes, it's a drawback of trading with oanda. Forex.com at follows average swap at NY close. I calcualted with euro, I pay about 1% of my profits in curiosity when for long positions. . Put in perspective..it's over 100k. .so that $1000 of bullshit! You switching? to forex.com?
No, since I trust Oanda, like my responsive contact guy, and am happy with my both my negotiated disperse reduction (.2 on all pairs) along with the volume rebate (exactly like you're getting).

Six profitable months in a row, (including Broker Rebates) with maximum drawdown of 10%.

Looking over my big losing days, a few repliing elements are:
    *Slept poorly
    *Efficiently unsettled
    *Rushed into transactions
*Held a directional bias despite clear indiions that price is flying in the other direction ( JPY prejudice this week was a costly bias)
*Mentally gave up and entered poorly thought-out trades following a final a Basket of losers

    What's going well:
    *Daily basket choice (identifying weak/strong)
    *NFP prejudice and price action
    *Frankfort open on Mondays!
    *Obtaining regular exercise
    *Awesome trading colleague

    what things to enhance:
*Prune weak/losers and add to baskets
*Let winners run more by advancing Stops
    *Sleeping more, eat better
*Close Platform by London near and escape the house
*conserve some LOTS for developments to Basket

    And start daily by watching:
