VTTrader: Indicator Discussions for VT Trader

In case you've got an idea for an Indior, place your request here.
I make no guarantees but will determine what could be done in order to constuct it.

    - I adored that Fantail indior. Aesthetically it is pleasing.

    Hi PR,

Glad you enjoy it Fantail I think it will have any merit beyond Art.

Should you look at it and can't find the candles, do not trade. I know that leaves a slew o' pips on the table but it sure garners.

I was asked if it really bore any base at Guppy's trading methodology and haven't responded yet since I have been attempting to compare it to all 6 of his approaches. Thus far is the fact that it will appear to comply with Bubble Trading [without the two group difference ] still trying to compare it to the others.

    I'm seeing Entry chances @ MA1 Crossing MA49
    and Exit hints @ MA1 crossing MA12.

Those are the only three values that show up from the inspect window

btw. I've been working on your BB petition and have it. Once I feel it's ready for you to test, I will post it.

    - I do see the fantail has trading potential. The only problem I see is a setup would have to be designed and centered around the indior itself- because it takes up alot of display space. If I place it together with Vegas Tunnel or B Bands - my eyes will soon explode. It is perfect at displaying trending versus markets.

I'm also starting to see that if one really takes some time to look for patterns together with the different ma's in fantail- you could trade off the balloning( gaining momentum) and regeneration of ma's(stalling momentum). Coupled with all the ADX you could explore position sizing techniques based on some things that I have read from Chuck LeBeaus TraderClub Forum- he has info on ADX. You could come up with some profitable setups I'm sure.

I found it interesting that you say when you can't see candles- no trade. Is that because the market is contracting, or stalling, and you also want to wait until a trend to trade with fantail?

I'm not that familar with? Daryl Guppy? I believe I have heard that he is famed because of his technique and community?

I would post a image of a fantail but I'm having problems with my VTTRADER software currently!

Change the colours of the majority of the MA's to exactly the same as or quite near your own Chart Background Colour. Keep the Most Important 3 MA's clear.

I found it interesting that you say when you can't see candles- no trade. Is that because the market is contracting, or stalling, and you also wish to wait before a trend to trade with fantail?
I enjoy it because it seems to dip inside these walls a little regularly till it determines a break direction, moreover, it eliminates a few pairs out of my radar.

1 Attachment(s) - that I wake up this afternoon and decide to demo some fantail transactions at beginning of euro morning 5am eastern(live in Texas).

All the majors are showing powerful trending fantail configurations on reduced timeframes(5min-10min). Just like you wait till you can see the candles- you can buy the pullbacks- since the Ma's on fantail display longterm trend. I'm using a PPO oscillator- however any oscillator or CCI etc..

    See picture

This is a image of the exact same profitable fantail commerce - this shows me with the Bollinger Band Bands as a trailing stop. I closed the trade once the red candle closed under the 1 dev Band (red arrow)

IT also seems that you can use the shortest fantail MA as a trailing stop- close the trade when price closes back in the fantail etc.. It seems that this type of trading will operate in all timeframes.

I don't think Chuck LeBeaus Traderclubforum has anything to offer the fantail. I was looking sizing off the ADX. Basicall rising ADX you increase lots- and - falling ADX after trending run you start taking profit sensibly. There isn't any way to get a reading unless you use a seperate indior. I am at a point in my trading I focus more on currency management and try and use the smallest quantity of indiors.

The installations I have been looking for with the fantail have been with a 1hr fantail and 5min fantail. These are some high likelihood shorterm trades in evident markets. Any time, or the 1hr fantail, does a good job of demonstrating a trending market. What I have been looking for is the longterm ma's decreasing in accordance. This is the way I guess it got its own title as fantail. From the 1 hr picture you can see the fan sreading out and starting to open up - that I consider, in all of trading, these kind of trends.
Switch down to the 5min and look for similar installments - or buybacks/pullbacks. In the 5 min you can observe that it stalled- the candles dropped back to the fantail- I am waiting for it to come from the fantail to buy- see picture.

I will just spend my time looking at more interval fantails(1hr-4hr) and then dropping down to reduced fantails and picking my spots to enter trades.

It's true you could scan markets with two easy ma's- and with a well trained eye you may find the exact same trending pairs. I just like how you are looking at the shorterm-midterm-longterm players on the market.

I would appreciate any positive or negative comments about various setups with the fantail- or my strategy. This is the very first installment I naturally started with.
