quote institutions cant simply place in orders / market or limit based on patterns support or resistance levels. . Etc. they will need to observe the way the market absorbs/ reacts to orders. . ie. They probe the markets, together with putting a buy order out from the market and find out how the market reacts to it. . Does this get absorbed? Does this produce a following? etc.. And dependent on the markets reaction, they will position themselfes...
I wondered if you'd any charts examples of this. .is it the sort of action you'll be able to view on a chart?

Sorry, not really thou, you would need a orderbook, such as DOM, level 2 or time and sales. . Etc., and in FX that somewhat does not exist
however in stocks and futures it will. .

According to your question if you can place these items on a chart, well no one cant,

as we dont see the order size,, u could use Volume plotted on your own chart do compensate for this a lil piece

    like this,

With this particular 5min bar chart of MSFT for instance,

    (A)
we whitness a minor support is broken and quantity starts to grow so basically the trading acivity increases and on the next bar of the decrease, quantity is the greatest but we close off the lows and the pub contradicted, at this pub we aknowledge that at least demand can stop the decrease, so exactly what an institution XY may have achieved, is Offering to the selloff, or hit the BID with comparative large sized orders, to check whether need is really rising to reverse the selloff should they whitness that huge chunks of offers get fast consumed or/ and hitting the BID actually provides no trace thru ie. We nevertheless stand BID in the price level they hit, then they flip buyers aswell, as buyers / need seems to outrun provide here, it comes down to what price can do and what not, and which way the path of least resistance is

    (B)
currently as on another bar vol. Is still fairly huge and we make a greater low and near the high we could consider the institution XY allready buys aswell

    (C)
this pub is interresting as it provides us a clue that sellers are completed for many part and the path of least resistance is up as, we rallied very far, possibly because other associations whitnessed the shift in behavior and jumped on board aswell to buy but as price transferred fairly easily and speedy ie, with no real resistance, they ceased the buying, (they dont need to pay more superior ) and we shut back to the lows

    (D)
since the path of least resistance is up (we return all of the ground the prior few downbars marked, in one pub, on decreasing vol.) , after need picked up on the market, everyone (smart) buys whats left and leave the market for a wonderful mark up...

its not neccesary to observe probes in order to judge the market by its own action, ie what's price capable to do and what not,
what happens if vol. picks up ? How can the market react on activity? , where is the path of least resistance etc..

Recall this story is merely composed, it might have been a lot different, ie why this or that happend, who participated and how, but it isnt significant
just judge the PA on its own and your good to go, yes its interresting to know others (big boys) trade the markets and this and that but its not neccesary... to pinpoint their aims, just follow price and watch waht its capable to do and what not at particular degree or following particular price behavior etc.. .

    487791 Structure (s)
quote Slaughterbeck entries (named after a person called Steve Slaughterbeck, as I recall ) are a way of entering transactions arising after Ross Hooks, in a really low-risk position. They're explained in Joe Ross's textbook Trading The Ross Hook,....
Steve S was the one that showed Joe Ross in getting a better and earlier entry rather than waiting for the hook - that the key of the entry is there needs to be enough things, ticks, or pips out of the s to the top of the hook - motive behind this, even if there is enough thrust in the s to the hook, but the hook was not taken out, the trader could have an chance to at least cover his cost (commission/spread and etc) - also to its s to be valid, no more than 3 correction pubs -

Then he renamed it Traders Trick Entry

Sorry if I look argumentative, but it may definitely be stated that Slaughterbeck's entrances are a unique subdivision of TT entries, most TT entries are not actually Slaughterbeck entrances in any way. (I mention it only for the sake of clarity, because there's so little debate of Slaughterbeck entrances in any trading forums, and as commented above, the little I have managed to see through Google searches has been quite misinterpreted and sometimes just plain wrong)

I'm currently using the naked chart with martingale and the results have been fairly encouraging so far. Can you please shed some light as to your account got filtered out? What was the lotsize, how frequently did you start the position etc etc.. It's going be a fantastic assistance. Thanks

48779I'm considering the book called Trading the Ross Hook... beginning with page 288, it clarifies the Steve Slaughterbeck input pattern. Sorry I can't post a chart or picture, but I will attempt to explain the Slaughterbeck entry. It is not the like the TTE (Trader's Trick Entry).

Quoted from page 289: For instance in a down trend, when we have a correction that forms a Ross Hook, we want to sell a breakout of the low of the initial bar subsequent to the point of the hook whose close is higher than the start.

My interpretation: For a Ross Hook in a down trend, the first bar after it that has a higher close , is a Slaughterbeck bar. The Slaugterbeck entry is to sell a breakout of the low of that bar.

    Hope that helps.

No worries - been throughout the Ross trading seminars back in 95 and 96 (double ) - value its investment and Far More valuable information then the novels can teach

True that not all TT are valid - if fact the chart that I posted the TT or s is actually not valid for the 3rd prior bar (the long one) has generated congestion -
The Slaughterbeck entrance must have greater close or slightly higher after the open AND can NOT maintain a congestion and vice versa a lesser close compared to open- however the Hook still valid
