2) How can you call building pot with a draws

Should you read the book The Tao of Poker and simply replace poker player with trader there are a lot good nuggets.

However floating is not a move especially applicable to LHE (which is exactly what I play most)

Question 2 doesn't make sense because calling is not building a pot today is it.
