Dukascopy Unavailable Trading 04 Sept Rant

I have several shorts setup for the past 3 days on several Eur and GBP crosses.

I check now and the platform says This tool is temporarily unavailable for online trading. . .blah blah. . .call the trading table in...

Needless to say that you cannot get a grasp of the Trading Desk.

I moved to Dukascopy (and away from Alpari) because I believed that a quasi ECN would be better. SO much for this. The Entry, SL and TP lines still show in my chart but the orders have disappeared. Hopefully when they are available that they are not filled at some stupid price point.

Any other br0kers causing issues today

There has been a problem earlier with this platform. What you have to do the next time that happens is closed down JForex and restart it. I had the exact same thing happen in the exact same time throughout the ECB news in which my order panel was flashing between the quotes along with the device unavailable instant, but it worked fine after I restarted the program.

After 3 calls and 4 emails that they cancelled my orders. The Sell Cease was rejected due to slippage. OK. I will agree with that. But then they kept the order and turned it into a market Limit. Personally, I like they just delete the order if they cannot fill it rather than having a potential spike shoot my now Limit order and do it go against me.

I am not a News trader and these orders were here for a week just sitting.

I did the disconnect/reconnect but didn't think to do a complete shutdown.

    Thanks for that.

I just declared the platform and that I can exchange.

It is always the simple solution. Could have only entered in the market instead of spending time wasted. You think that Support could have said that.

Oh well. Wait for the retrace and discover another place to enter.

I am glad you got it solved.

I don't think it's a server issue because the tick data has no gaps. It may be some kind of memory overload or difficulty with the Java script. Whatever it is, it does not happen that often but you would think Support would know how to fix it. (I have been with them 5 years and this has occurred maybe 2-3 times)

So not something which should cause me to run away on your view.

Currently looking for a different broker which can accept CAD deposits so I have a backup.

Flyer415.... I can't work out how to message you straight, so I'm posting here, the most recent thread you started. My apologies to all of you because of this being off-topic.

I've a question regarding something you posted:

. . .the best approach to trade Currency Market in canada is via a company. Create a numbered company and use that as the account owner with you or your confidence as the owner. It'll be considered a CCPC and taxed at 11% over the first $500,000 of profits yearly. Be aware that this is profits so that your expenses could be deducted from the top.

After that then just dividend out the funds to your trust and move those through to your self, your spouse/kids that are older then 18. In BC you can earn somewhere around $42,000 tax free when the CCPC dividend is the only source of income.

Sothere are a million remarks about this on the internet; there are those who say you need six full-time employees to be eligible as a company in order to claim in the 11 percent rate. I've just set up a company and mentioned as much to your family member, who is a lawyer, and he said I'd be better off claiming as a individual.

My question to you is: ' Are you currently operating in the way described above? And does CRA go to this? Calling your trading gains business income taxable at 11 percent in the company, then paid to you as dividends (and taxed again unless the only source, in which case there is an exemption for the first $42,000 as mentioned )? Do you still stand by the information above?

I'm just super interested because I'm setting up to trade from within a company, and ought to make sure it's the right thing to do. Your post was the very authoritative statement regarding the benefits that I've come across, everywhere.
