Huge spread with Market Order for IB?

I'm demo examining Interactive Brokers' platform, also when I set in market orders, they will be filled with spreads of 10 pips on average (even for EURUSD wich usually has a spread of 0.5-1 pip)! Incidentally, I was implementing it via IDEAL PRO, so spreads should be low.

Is this how it's supposed to be? I expect it only happens in demo accounts, this is very weird.

Edit: by the way, I have another question, what does Buying Power imply in the Account window, I notice that the amount is set by multiplying the entire value of the account by 3.33. If my account has 10,000 my buying electricity is 33,333.00. But this has nothing to do with margins available for Forex has it?

Well, the IB Demo is NOT the same as the MT4 or even Oanda Demos!!!! It's using dummy data and recommended just to find out and examine the TWS, API etc..

The suitable DEMO are the socalled Paper Trading Account, which is top, actual live - simply not sending orders to market. Unfortunately this is only available along with some real money account.
