    closing half of a position on oanda

    When I have multiple short position on eur and I wish to shut half of a particular position is it possible?

    Sure. Just take half of your position size (ie if your position is 10000, then half is 5000) and market it back. If you are long, of course.

    Yes I know but when I've ie two position long one with 10 000 with a stop at 1.5000 and one with 5000 with a halt at 1.5050 and I wish to shut 2500 of my 5000 position,... I promote 2500 but they sell 2500 of my 10 000 position wich is the one that I want to keep because of the stop that I have on this one. I believe they sell those unit on the earliest position my figure!!!

    I think, FIFO (First In First Out) if I remember correctly. I guess the only way would be to close the 5k and re-open 2.5k and cover the .9 distribute (23c or something)

    Edit: Just Be Sure You have a Market Order ticket filled out and ready to market 2.5k when you click the 5k Close....or Buy in the Asian session, together with 5k you might even move the market and get a better price in your 2.5k
