does a chart have to be highlighted for the EA to perform?

I used the trailing stop EA to track the market although I slept. When I awakened nevertheless, the trailing stops weren't upgraded and some of the pairs had been struck for a full loss. Does the window together with all the EA have to be open for the EA to operate? I am clueless and I really want some help with this.

last night I used the monitoring stop EA to track the market while I slept. As soon as I awakened nevertheless, the observation stops weren't updated and some of the pairs had been struck for a reduction that is complete. Does the window with the EA have to be open to the EA to operate? I am clueless and I truly want some help for this.
No that's not necessary. Please post all details. Did the EA open the orders? Does this have a trailing stop option? How about if the MT4 lost connection? If it did, it would've deactivated experts-advisors if MT4 is on default settings.

    Hello guys. here goes

    1. EAs were switched on
    2. I place the EAs to allow live trading
    3. There was a smiley face in the top right corner
    4. The customer was on when I not updated my stops and awakened.

I started the orders manually and then placed a trailing stop EA to track the price for me. It seems that it did not perform as it was supposed to. I am using the trailingstop.mq4 ea. I've turned off the profit transaction choice because I wanted a trail, not just to track it when I was in profit.

    Thanks .

What admissions were there at the experts log and the diary log? Did the logs show some errors? Were any stops changed by the EA in the log?

Did you set this up so that you could attach the EA to one chart and control all open positions or was the EA attached to each chart with the other options? Perhaps it doesn't work right if you use the EA on over one chart with the option set to control all positions. If the EA you're currently using is the one I think.

Is this the EA from Steve Wilson from TSD or the one from Kimiv.ru on TSD or even none of the aforementioned?

What's the benefit of using the EA instead of the built in trailing stop feature, a high number of trades that are open? I don't know what you desired the EA to do on the transactions. The stop loss remain at it's initial place if a trade goes against you from the start would not?

Hi nvwine, the EA that I'm using is the one by steve wilson. You may use it to command all open positions but I didn't need that as I had distinct positions open with distinct prevent losses. The benefit that I wished to use was to have a trailing stop, ie. The stop could trail the space I put in because the stop loss, instead of the mt4 way of getting it trail AFTER it becomes positive by the value I place in there. Neither the steve wilson stop loss or the mt4 prevent loss would guard you from that if the trade goes against you.

I do not know how to check the logs. Can you please allow me to know how to check the logs?

    thanks.

There are tabs for journal and experts in the base of the terminal window. If you click the pros tab you will see the entries in the log together with the newest at the top. Considering that the window is small and limits the amount of lines it is much more easy to right click in the window and then select open. You may see log files for dates. You may view the files with Notepad or any viewer. The files reveal the newest entry in the base. Scroll through the files and search for where the EA has been installed and search for any actions or errors. Some times when your not utilized to what should be there restart the specialist then restart MT4 and immediately look at the log and you will find the idea about what should be there. Do the identical thing for the journal tab.

I just downloaded the EA, re-started MT4 and installed it on an open shedding trade free of SL. It set a SL and began trailing. I opened the two log files and pasted the parts below. I don't have the expert.wav document in the correct directory so the sound does not work but the rest of the EA seems to function following a 15 min test.

One suggestion. Begin your testing using the specialist on 1 chart. If it works fine there, see. Add it to another chart and see if work stops properly. An EA like this one may have trouble tracking orders.
