thread: Recent Strength indicator

quote perhaps but we need more specifics. . .need to do some testing to see how long that a'sign' (say a currency hitting 0/100) remains there until it comes down. Drawdown on trading MN1 sign could be enormous.... But these are good starting.
Im already in this kind of egies for some time now and I can say that with 8 currencies which s masterpiece is into, you've too much pairs and plays possibly in a drama. Im focused on 21 pairs and 7 currencies. I dont play NZD. But this is not a issue.

What're undergoing is and what you will surely be ready about:

    1. Problem of backtesting. You backtest this as it looks for the market.
    2. Lots of noise in the egies: Lots of orders as 21 pairs is actually a lot.
    3. Lots of testing that is forwards. (Im not a developer, but found outstanding one on FF. I was able to picture one EA with situations, so that I could forward test it. I recommend this). At the peak time of testing I had 4 computers operating with 100 EAs running im at the 4th stage now, so actually dont need the pawar anymore. .
    4. Lots of ideas which were scratched in various phases of testing that is forwards. (Mostly on TFs and worth ) (my indexes dont have 100-0 ratio, but are freefloaters).
    5. I am concentrating winning rate with R:R around 1:1 and higher. The goal is over 70 percents.

Thank you for the heads up 21. Yes, I might see removing CHF as well as NZD because of their correlation with AUD EUR.

Sounds like you're basket trading. Do you find better outcomes vs. discretely trading the currencies?

Would you like trading the reversion from extreme RS levels, or momentum trading the RS signals?

How much does MTF work into your own system (s)? E.g. have you found advantages to analysing over one TF, or does the reduny ensure it is not worth it

I am working out egies in Excel, to spit out commerce recommendations employing other filters/indiors as well as RS.
    cheers

thanks for the heads up 21. Yes, I could see eliminating CHF in addition to NZD due to their correlation with AUD EUR. Sounds like you are basket trading. Can you find superior outcomes trading just the strongest/weakest currencies? Can you prefer trading the reversion from RS levels, or momentum trading the RS signals? Just how much does MTF work in your system(s) ? E.g. have you found advantages to analysing more than 1 TF, or does the reduny make it not worth it I am working out egies in Excel, to spit out trade recommendations...
Yes, its not the problem that currency to eliminate, but the way to filter the transactions. So, higher quantity of pairs wont damage, if a person filters out them. Since there are data the problem is thru testing interval. When a person comes down to less than 100 transactions. Not there yet.

No basket trading. 21 pairs. Index trading. Looking for lowest and strongest and try to buy the strongest when is the weakest and with the strongest currency at that time, which is feeble.

My indexes are different than ones here. I use two rates of these and use all TFs. Also a indior that is different. David is using stochastics, im using MA. Also mostly all TFs in the choice making.

I wouldn't go and try to find a system that is contra trend. So, trying to combine in the momentum.
What's MTF? Sorry, dont understand. -Monthly TF? No.

Backtesting and taking a look at the values:
The problem is, that when you set numbers (rate ) of information to track you already are creating strong choice. Also for the past. So past is unworthy within the X time backagain. Lets say you select at 10 .
It will look 10 TFs back from NOW. You try to find that entire idea into excel. But, results are not correct. As 11 days also or back yesterday, results were different. Getting information back is hard. It repaints..at least mine does, David could say something about that.

So, what to do? It is tested by forward.

Concur , these RS indi's repaint. Because they are continuously placing the newest data stage into the chosen variety of data points (e.g. 20 intervals back( or what have you) and recalculating the entire range. I am also coming to the end that the data points are important for signs. But that is all that is needed I think. We're concerned by which curr is more powerful vs the others at this moment and across multiple timeframes (MTFs). . .not that which it failed in 20 spans past. That said, taking a look at the data set of say gt;3 periods IS proving useful for visual backtesting. I see a few fantastic matchup involving reversals on price charts and also the RS extremes (big difference btwn 2 currencies) along with crossovers.

On stochastics (ROS indi): it probably makes the most sense to approach the indi because you would use a stochastic. As david cautioned us this in his original post, simply because a curr is strong/weak on the stochastics (even vs other currencies, not only its own stoch) doesn't imply it will not park there and also stay strong/weak. That eliminates looking for entries based on reversion using the ROS so unless there is some kind of filtering.

    Gt;gt;I would not go and try to find a system which is contra trend. So, trying to combine in the momentum. Lt;lt;

playing the reversion from 0/100 on the RS indi isn't necessarily contra fad, if the bigger TFs agree. Also, if a curr reaches 100 vs. the others it's most likely to not stay on top for long. This yells'possible entrance' for me personally.

Whereas I think stochastics, which indies ob/os, informs you greater if a movement has run out, at least at the indied timeframe. This speaks'conservative (or initial TP) depart' to me personally.

Anyhow this is where I am in my using these tools up to now.
    Good stuff.

On repainting: setting ROS to 3 periods vs 30 periods turns out pretty much exactly the very same amounts for your 3 periods. It can be that the older values (beyond 3 periods back) are somewhat more sensitive to the repainting changing their values.

Note - the repainting 21 is talking about is about seeing entirely different amounts based on when the chart begins. This seems more important with RS compared to ROS. This may be set using the Base Point parameter from the RS indi.

also is it possible to have the dates as well as the occasions on the top timeline? It becomes hard to read with no dates. thanks.
I'll look at this in another version. Not certain when I'll return to it, however.

.. .playing the reversion on the RS indi from 0/100 isn't necessarily contra fad, if the TFs agree. Furthermore, if a curr reaches 100 vs. the others it is most likely not to remain at the top for longterm. This yells'possible entry' for me. Whereas I think stochastics, which indies ob/os, tells you greater when a move has run out, at least in the timeframe that is indied. This speaks'conservative (or first TP) exit' to me. Where I utilizing these tools so far, anyway this is. Good stuff.
Everything goes, yes. Afterwards on a winning is needed by one.

I am really interested also to run along with some ideas if you guys try to construct something. But Im ultra helpless at programming Im a useless fook in that territory.

    Dear Hanover,
I am looking for a resource requirement trend(zones) indior, for all time period for major pairs. On chart such as dashboard.

Dear Hanover, I am searching for a supply demand trend(zones) indior, for many time frame for major pairs. On single chart like dashboard. Best wishes, hukam
    Hello,

That sounds like a big programming job, and I am currently too busy with present projects to undertake whatever's too time-consuming. If you post your request in one of those #8216;I code your it's more likely to be seen by other developers, and perhaps one of these will help you. However, you have to explain how the zones are calculated; we developers are intellectual giants but we're not mind readers. LOL.

    Good luck,
    David
