Thread: EA Factory

    EA Factory

I'm opening this thread because of an article I read in PF about receiving and giving (written by fijitrader in the event that you still do not understand about that article). I've been practicing the thought accordingly and I think that it has been changing my life ever since. Forex is just one aspect of it but let's just concentrate on Currency Market. Ever since I begin to produce EAs and indiors and discuss them with the nice fellows with this particular forum, many experienced traders began to discuss their invaluable suggestions and approaches to me selfishlessly, or contributed their time on analyzing my EAs/indiors to make them better. In the process I've learnt a lot and in the same time I realized that higher results can be achived if we do it in a more organized way.

I guess I do not need to explain how a reliable EA can help ours trading life. The crucial word here is dependable, or caliber. The majority of the EAs out there lack the caliber because they are produced by an extremely small group of volunteers, who typically don't have a lot of time, much trading or programming expertise and ordinarily don't want to share their ideas with other people (give) therefore can't get much help from other people too. All these may be solved if we can begin to share and knows how to share.

Yes, open source EA development, that is what I am discussing. It is like building linux in EA world so we all benefit from it.

In fact in FF we're in a perfect situation here to make it happen. I will address what components we need to build a reliable EA in another post (I hate long articles, and that one is approaching my limit already).

BTW, my first language isn't English. I will try to make my point clear but there's a win/loss ratio here I don't think I can overcome in this life.

Here is what I consider the input parameters:

Int EntryOffset: the entrance point from the high/low of previous day
Int HardSL: the initial stop loss
    Bool Trailing
    Int TrailingSL:

That is it. Any comments are welcomed.

But I do not think this easy method would do the job.

    90573 Hello Aha,

Thank you for your TD-Seq and TD-Combo indiors. I'm looking for charts.

Here were some thing I found last night.

    1. Both indiors did not upgrade screen/numbering automatically so that I had to manually open them every 5 minutes. This is troublesome for 5-min trading. See 1st attached.

    2. They did not update last completed bar that's on left of current pub, even with updates. You can view from 1st attached. No issue for 1-hour chart.

    3. I'm not certain but I believe TD-Combo upgraded chart automatically but not for TD-Seq.
One small numbering glitch was one of these (or both? ) ) Skipped number 4 when upgraded automatically. I can't remember that was for countdown or installation. By way of instance, it switched to 1,2,3,4,5 after I upgraded it manually and revealed 1,2,3,5,6.

    4. In accordance with TD Countertrend pdf, sell installation that is perfect is high of setup bar # 9, # 8 or following one has to be greater than highs of both pub # 7 and # 6. This isn't in your indiors. See 2nd attached.

    5. According same pdf, affirmed sell countdown is high of pub #13 must be greater than or equivalent to close of pub. See 3rd attached.

That I plan to do a 1 to 2 weeks' manual backtest to your indiors and also two other coders' through this week.

    Thanks again.

    Regards,
    Hoh

    90573 Another thing:

The two TD-Seq and TD-Combo have had same setup numbering but different countdown numbering when they are overlapping?

    90573Aha,

Thanks to you and the team behind these indiors. I have been following this thread on these indiors and have been trying it on FXDD demonstration for the two weeks. I've got exactly the identical difficulty as Hoh. These indiors don't automatically place numbers on this chart.

Would love your assistance and guie. Thanks.

Below were something I found last night.

    1. The two indiors didn't upgrade screen/numbering automatically so I needed to manually start them each 5 minutes. This is problematic for 5-min trading. Watch 1st attached.

    2. They didn't update last finished bar which is on left of current pub, even with updates. You can see from 1st. No problem for 1-hour chart.

    3. I'm not certain but I believe upgraded 1-hour chart automatically but maybe not for TD-Seq.
One small numbering glitch was one of them (or both? ) ) Skipped number 4 when upgraded automatically. I can't keep in mind that was for countdown or setup. By way of instance, it turned to 1,2,3,4,5 after I upgraded it manually and revealed 1,2,3,5,6.

    4. According to TD Countertrend pdf, ideal sell setup is high of sell setup bar # 9 # 8 or following one has to be higher than highs of both pub # 7 and # 6. This isn't in your indiors. Watch 2nd attached.

    5. According same pdf sell countdown is high of pub # 13 must be higher than or equal to near of pub # 8 to. Watch 3rd attached.

    90573Hi Hoh,

Thanks for sharing your testing result.

Both indiors wasn't meant to be utilized at a time lesser than 30M, therefore I did not integrate the logic for it. But if your manual testing result is great on reduced timeframe (I doubt it), I will put it in.

Should you discover a problem on updating, you might attempt to switch time and see what occurs, i.e., alter interval from one interval to another and then change it back. In that way you at least don't need to reopen the indior.

I am mindful of this updating problem with TD-Seq and at TD-Combo the problem was fixed (I think. . ) .

The perfect setup/countdown are indied by larger arrows. The arrows in your charts were.

Combo, SEQ and 90573Yeah have the identical setup logic but countdown logic that is different.

The two countdown shown in your charts are to get a preceding setup, not those shown in the charts.
