Hi Factory Group, Does anyone have material or guie on how best to assess and understand what every news announcement which comes out signifies. There are several announcements that come out on a weekly basis that I do not understand fully how to translate what report does exactly what for a particuliar currency pair. Just a little detail on what each does and how it effects different pairs would be very valuable. Many Thanks Beforehand

The calendar on this very site will give you much of the info you seek. What news impacts the market can really depend upon the current attention. For instance, the market right now is fixated on interest rates. Meaning that any sign of inflation, or the lack thereof, takes on great value. Re: CPI, PPI ect. . The biggies are always NFP (non farm payrolls), any Central Bank meetings, TIC data (Australian purchases of US debt) GDP and Trade Balance. Traditionally US data takes precedence over other data. Being the worlds reserve currency (for today anyway) has it is privleges As the USD goes so goes the rest of the market.
