Let us start with a bit of a SELF SCREENING PROCESS for each dealer to decide if they match this fundamental criteria, and if so the journey begins

To Scalp or never to Scalp? A Beginner's Guide To Scalping From The Forex Markets
Scalping, at least trading, is a phrase used to denote the amount of small profits on a regular basis, by going in and out of places several times Every Day. Scalping is not unlike day trading where a dealer will open a position and then close it again during the trading session; in other words not carrying a position in to a different trading period or holding a position overnight. Whereas a http://www.investopedia.com/terms/d/daytrader.asp may look to have a position once or twice, or perhaps a few times every day, scalpers are much more frenetic and try to skim really tiny profits multiple times in a session. And if a day trader may trade off the five-minute and the 30-minute graphs, scalpers will frequently trade off of tick graphs and one-minute graphs. In particular, some scalpers like to attempt to grab the high-velocity moves that exist around the time of this release of financial data along with other important news events, like the release of their employment statistics or GDP releases if that's what's high on the financial agenda.

Why Scalp?
Scalpers like to try and scalp between five and 10 pips from each transaction they make and to repeat this procedure repeatedly throughout the day. Employing high leverage and making trades with just a few http://www.investopedia.com/terms/p/pip.asp gain at one time can add up , especially if your trades are profitable and may be repeated many times over the course of this day . Bear in mind, with one lot, the typical value of a pip is roughly $10. So, for each five pips of profit made, the dealer can make $50 at one time. Ten times a day, this would equal $500.

The Scalper's Character
Scalping, though, is not for everybody, and yet one thing is for certain: You need to have the temperament for a scalper. Scalpers need to enjoy sitting in front of the computers for the entire session, plus they need to enjoy the intense concentration it takes to scalp. You cannot take your eye off the ball when you are attempting to scalp a small move, for example five pips at one time. Even if you believe you've got the temperament to sit in front of the computer all day, or all night if you are an insomniac, you must be the type of person who will react very quickly without analyzing your every move. There's not any time. Being able to pull the trigger is a crucial key quality for a scalper. This is especially true so as to cut a position in case it should move against you two or three pips.

The Advantages and Disadvantages of Scalping
Scalping Is Quite fast paced. If you like the activity and like to focus on a couple of minute graphs, then scalping may be for you. If you've got the temperament to react quickly, and don't have any compunction in taking very quick losses, not more than two or three pips, then scalping may be for you.
But if you like to test and think through each decision you make, maybe you are not suited to scalp.

The Difference Between Market Earning and Scalping
Scalping is somewhat similar to what market makers do who trade round the distribute. When a http://www.investopedia.com/terms/m/marketmaker.asp buys a position he's immediately seeking to cancel that place and ch the http://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/spread.asp. Though both different types of investors serve various functions, this is exactly what a market maker does all day. This is not referring to all those bank traders who take proprietary positions to your lender.
The difference between a market maker and a scalper, though, is very important to understand. A market maker earns the spread, while a scalper pays the spread. So when a scalper buys on the ask and sells on the bidding, he's got to await the marketplace to move enough to pay for the spread he's just paid. From the converse, the market maker sells on the ask and buys on the bidding, so immediately gaining a pip or two as gain for making the marketplace. Therefore, the danger of a market maker compared with a scalper, although they are seeking to be in and out of places very fast and very often, is far better for your market maker compared to scalper. Market makers love scalpers because they trade frequently and they cover the spread, meaning that the more the scalper trades the more the market maker will make the a couple of pips from the spread.
