    So if you receive a 123 or 2b and they are inside a higher high and a lower low that arrived before them, then you are in a consolidation type of mode? Which could mean you are looking for a fracture of a previous high or low before looking for a new 123? I believe I recall Divergence talking today.

    You do not (until after the fact).

    953331 Structure (s) David: I've made some comments of your final chart. I might say more but it becomes messy: for instance, the initial 123 I compose Not a 123... you can mark a 123 in the contrary direction; the second one is, well, stand in the corner and think about it;--RRB-))

    Your 2bs are intriguing: : the 2/27 one is the only one I'd start to consider. I don't mean to be harsh, I'm chuckling away to myself because I article... ( of course many might disagree with my view )

    quote So in the event that you get a 123 or 2b plus they are inside a higher high and a lower low that arrived before them, then you're in a consolidation type of style? I've ummed and arred about whether or not to give an input here. It is a small minefield and it's just once you start a post in response, that you realise how hard it is to explain.

    I dug up a chart from a year ago for an example;

    You have to constantly match the 123 into the scale and period that you're watching. From the above charts you will find 123's everywhere, but notice how the entire rise and pullback in the centre of the chart is a 123. They're fractal, exactly the same as practically every single chart pattern that is...

    David - the 123 that's marked on the chart is about as perfect a form and scale as there are, there is just one thing missing and that's that point 2 of a 123 ideally must break out of this prior channel.

    I can see that leg of the 123 in the chart is clearly in 3 small waves (abc) and this may be construed as a tiny 123 in itself. The importance of this is these are the one's that will fail, whereas.... ah sod it.... you see?! This is exactly what I meant... I simply can not convey my experience in writing...

    95333 Perhaps could have found a better example, but the 123 from the chart below can't possibly be part of the exact same downward cycle;

    That is what I meant by stage two breaking from a prior station. We want to search to get a 123 that puts us back to the overall trend that we are following (match the scales).
