I would still wind up being the exact same!! Because of mentality and character. Would still grow to be a low tf semi-scalp, semi-swing trader

I started out trying, like everyone else, to forecast what price gonned na proceed. Then I'd get really depressed when I lost and was wrong.
I try to forecast but I do not trade my predictions, I trade PA..
Just go with the flow and follow the trend or as Dr Joe would say'if its moving up - buy, if its moving down - market'. .
I started off using PA, and I believe this was a fantastic move, so I was off to a fantastic start there (pat on the back).
I subsequently got tricked into trying to make as much as possible depositing reduced timeframes heading for 5-10 pips back and forth during the day. With what I know today, that was really dumb, but It did give me some experience, so I can't say it was good for nothing (just not great for my account).
I'd have heard what causes the moves in currencies rather than only stared at a chart daily like an idiot thinking that was all there is on the market.
I'd have studied market construction and micro-structure.
I think I only wasted about 6 weeks and not much money, so I don't feel so awful.
I don't agree to any of you that say it can't be predicted, I really don't think that is the hard part.
Not saying it can not be predicted, but it's better to wait for PA to confirm your prediction.
And its easier to predict PA in a solid fashion - do not try to pick a top/bottom - wait for the trend to reverse.
I agree that there is not anything wrong with waiting for PA.. But nothing wrong without waiting for it. Many techniques understand.
I have not been trading long enough to really know if I would start over. It is the journey that makes you to the trader you're. Maybe in a couple more years I'll have another answer, but right now I believe I am still starting the travel. So basically, I would do it.
EDIT:
In fact, I would do something differently and been a little more skeptical of a few of the people in the Forex world. I had been a little to trusting.
Scalping, or, as I prefer to call it, ninja trading, is so vilified. But now, I feel a little guilty (sometimes ) admitting I do it. There is not anything wrong with it. It's a great skill to have. You can sit at your notebook at any time and also make some fast money. Just doesn't suit some people however.
Well, do not get me wrong, I exchange intraday... but how I had been going about it, out and in tight stops only following price with no thought... never , to me that is 100% gambling. This is just me.
ROFL ROFL ROFL - don't begin that dialogue or Cindy is gonna kill me. It is not gambling if you are with higher timeframes, in my opinion. If timeframes are very long, I spitting.
